Toddler Bed... Hello & Goodbye!

A month ago, I was thinking of our next bridges to cross with Miles: getting rid of the pacifier, the crib and diapers. Of course, I know it doesn't all happen over night. One down, two to go.

After receiving a toddler bed from Mamie's relatives, I think one of us parents was anxious to get it set-up (I wont name which one). After having it in his room for one day, Miles was asking to sleep in the "little bed." So with Drew out of town, I tried it.

1st night:  Of course, I was awake all night long... looking at him in the video monitor. He slept great! Didn't move. Shew, we got through one night. I was thinking to myself, maybe this transition wont be so difficult.

2nd night: Drew put Miles to sleep like he often does. I was looking forward to a better night sleep knowing our 2 year old could do it and that I didn't have to keep my eye on him via the monitor. An hour or two later, "THUMP." I raced to the video monitor as Drew headed to his room. Yes, our boy fell out! He must of somehow got over the towel rolls I had put under the fitted sheet to attempt to keep him in. And looking though the monitor, he wasn't moving. He slept though the fall. Drew scooped him up and put him back in his toddler bed. Time passes. I awake at 3am and look in the monitor to see: an empty toddler bed! Miles had fallen out again and this time maneuvered half way across the room. There I found him sound asleep on the carpet. This time, scooping him up and putting him back in the crib.  The toddler bed may have to be put away for a while.

Raquelle did this a couple times...only she woke up crying because it was on the hard wood floor! :) But, she only did it a few more times and figured out she needed to sleep without moving a whole bunch. Keep trying it...he'll figure it out! :)
